President and CEO
Sterling Wilson is the President and CEO of Shiftboard, as well as a member of the company’s board of directors. A seasoned executive, he has earned an exceptional reputation for building technology startups into significant companies. His leadership and strategic vision form the cornerstone of Shiftboard’s business as the company rapidly expands to help more organizations solve their most difficult people management problems.
Prior to Shiftboard, Sterling was the President, CEO, and board member at Zettics, a venture-funded big data analytics software company. He also served as President and board member of Qpass, a venture-funded digital commerce software company that sold to Amdocs for $300 million. Before Qpass, he was CFO and EVP of Operations at Concur, a travel and expense management startup, where he helped grow the company from five employees to over 600, and led its IPO. Sterling also served as CFO and VP of Operations at IntelliQuest, Inc., and CFO at Contact Software International.
Beyond Shiftboard, Sterling currently serves on the board of directors for two Seattle-based venture-funded companies – Koverse and Yapta. He is also a board member and Treasurer for the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.
CTO and VP of Engineering
Kevin is the CTO and VP of Engineering at Shiftboard. An industry veteran, he has successfully driven growth, product development, and innovation at a number of companies across the technology space.
Prior to Shiftboard, Kevin helped guide Demand Media from early-stage startup through IPO as SVP of Engineering. He then led his team through a spin-off into Rightside, where he continued in a similar role. As co-founder and CTO of N2H2, he led the development of their ground-breaking technology and played an active role in the company’s $65 million IPO. Kevin also drove 800% departmental expansion while CTO of Whitepages.com, enabling 10x revenue growth.
Kevin holds a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where he was also a PhD candidate until building websites and starting companies became more interesting than his thesis. Off the clock, Kevin and his wife run an equestrian boarding stable and support various philanthropic causes.
VP of Sales and Business Development
As VP of Sales and Business Development, Ian is responsible for Shiftboard’s sales, business development and strategic partnerships. He and his team are based in the United Kingdom with offices in London. Ian has lead a number of successful organizations in Europe, South East Asia and the US and brings over twenty years of experience within enterprise software, holding numerous executive and sales leadership positions.
Previous to Shiftboard, Ian was Vice President of Sales & Professional Services EMEA, for Spirent Communications, where he lead a restructuring that put Spirent’s European business back on a path to growth. Prior to Spirent, Ian was CEO at Velocent Systems, a Chicago based telecoms start-up, which he guided to a successful acquisition by Zettics Inc. Before this, Ian was a founding member of Apertio Ltd, a UK based telecommunications start up that pioneered subscriber data management and was eventually acquired by Nokia Networks.
Ian’s studied electrical engineering and trained as an Avionics Engineer while in the British Army. It was during his time Ian learned to sail, a passion that grew, culminating in competing in the 36,000 mile Clipper Around the World sailing race on a 70 foot racing yacht. Ian now lives on a farm in the English countryside with his wife and three children, who keep him fully occupied and firmly grounded, at least most of the time.
VP of Inside Sales
Tyler Kimsey is the VP of Inside Sales at Shiftboard where he is responsible for the development, growth and execution of Shiftboard’s inside sales strategy for North America. He brings to the role nearly two decades of leadership experience in finance, marketing, and sales for high-growth B2B organizations.
Prior to joining Shiftboard, Tyler spearheaded sales efforts for key industry verticals at DocuSign, where he played an instrumental role in the company’s rapid sales growth. Prior to DocuSign, Tyler led finance, strategy, and sales efforts for a number of leading professional service firms in the Pacific Northwest.
Tyler holds an BA in Finance and Marketing from Western Washington University. He enjoys spending his free time with his lovely wife Katelyn, and their three young children. A devoted Sounders fan, you might also catch him leveraging his season tickets any chance he gets.
VP of Customer Success
Connie O’Brien leads Shiftboard’s customer success team. With over two decades of customer success leadership, Connie’s unmatched focus on helping customers transform their businesses and accomplish their goals has led to repeatedly exceeding customer expectation and outperforming company objectives.
Prior to Shiftboard, Connie served as the Vice President of Client Services and Operations, driving ID Experts to be the premier service provider for detecting identity theft and restoration. Her distinguished commitment to personal service, cost-effective solutions and surpassing customer expectations drove effective delivery and revenue optimization for all customers including government, breach, affinity, healthcare, and corporate clients. Prior to that, Connie led similar initiatives at Edifecs, McKesson, and Regence.
Connie holds an AS in Healthcare from Highline College. In her spare time, Connie is busy coaching a variety of sports, while also finding time to cheer on her home team, the Seattle Seahawks.
Chief Marketing Officer
Steve O’Brian is the CMO at Shiftboard. He brings 20+ years of marketing experience, with an emphasis on startups and B2B tech. Steve’s diverse leadership background includes building teams from scratch, managing large organizations, navigating corporate acquisitions, and launching new product lines.
Prior to Shiftboard, Steve was the VP of Marketing and Customer Success at Chronus, where he was instrumental in the company’s evolution from early stage startup to market leader. He also helped double revenues while leading marketing at University of Washington Professional & Continuing Education. Before UW, he was VP of Marketing at startups Troika Networks (acquired by QLogic) and GraniteEdge Networks. He also spent 10 years in product management/marketing at McDATA and 3Com.
Steve holds an MBA from Westminster College and a BS from the University of Utah. An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoys spending time hiking, biking, and skiing in the Cascades with his family and friends.
VP of Product
Dorothy Pults leads Shiftboard’s product management team and is focused on delivering business value through the products and features Shiftboard customers need to be successful. She brings extensive executive leadership experience to her role and expertise across product management, marketing, and development.
Prior to Shiftboard, Dorothy served as the Sr. Director of Product Marketing at Basho and leading product and technical marketing in the highly competitive, open source NoSQL market.
In addition to launching multiple product releases, Dorothy presented at Velocity conference and was the co-organizer for RICON developer conferences. Previous to Basho, Dorothy has held several senior leadership positions over her 20-year career including serving as the Director of Product and Technical Marketing at F5 Networks, Vice President of Product Management and Development at Bocada and the Director of Engineering at EMC.
Dorothy holds an MS in Computer Systems from the University of Seattle and a BS in Computer Science from Texas State University. Always a big baseball fan, Dorothy can always be counted on to root for the local Seattle Mariners and enjoys sailing with her family in the Pacific Northwest.
Senior HR Manager
Bobbi Gohr is Shiftboard’s HR Manager. She is responsible for handling all the HR, facilities, and administrative functions that keep company operations running smoothly every day. She’s also dedicated to creating an innovative culture and maintaining the inspiring atmosphere that make Shiftboard such a great place to work.
Prior to Shiftboard, Bobbi spent nearly a decade filling a variety of roles related to administrative operations and facilities management at Qpass, and later Amdocs following an acquisition. Her responsibilities included overseeing compliance, policy development, cost control, office space planning, coordinating relocations and reconfigurations, managing vendor relationships, and supervising facilities staff. She also held similar positions at Media Passage, Inc. and SolutionsIQ.
Throughout her career Bobbi has primarily focused on creating safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces that promote maximum employee productivity and departmental cohesiveness.
