There are 2 different volunteer types and crews: All Conference and Music Festival.

Prospective volunteers should know which type of volunteer, All Conference or Music Festival, they would like to sign-up for before beginning their registration. Each volunteer type has different tasks, operating times and   perks. For more information about All Conference and Music Festival Volunteers, visit the SXSW Volunteer website.

All Conference Volunteers are eligible for Volunteer Film, Interactive, Music, and Platinum Badges. Perks are earned based on the number of hours worked.

Music Festival Volunteers are eligible to work on ONE of the Music Festival Crews, which operate only during the days and nights of the SXSW Music Festival, March 13 - 19.
