Take advantage of our Event ID feature and associate a unique number/letter combination with a shift which can then be used to filter, group, and report on certain types of shifts. Unlike the Client, Department, and Role fields associated with shifts/positions, Event IDs do not need to be managed in a list under General Settings. Instead they can be created by any manager, and hence are a better solution when hundreds or thousands of unique Event IDs are used in an organization.
Many organizations have their own system of alpha-numeric codes to tie together shifts/positions. The most common use case is within event management and hospitality industries, where a certain event may have thousands of shifts across many dates and many teams, but it is important to filter the calendar and reports to see just those positions associated with that unique Event ID. Once an event code is created, the next manager can enter the first few letters or numbers will see the associated Event Codes to choose from.
