The Indianapolis film festival’s mission is to create a shared experience around film. It was founded in 2004 and seeks to create that experience by championing films that entertain, challenge and expand perspectives in Indianapolis and beyond. This happens to be the largest film festival in Indianapolis by combining a variety of international and american films. The festival starts on July 17th and runs till the 26th. This year they are screening an amazing variety of over 90 different films throughout the ten day run!
The festival’s opening film is “I Origins”, a film that follows a molecular biologist whose study of the human eye points to evidence with far reaching implications about our scientific and spiritual beliefs. Be sure not to miss the hottest after party in the city immediately following the film! If you can’t make the opening film this year, the festival is closing on a grand note with the screening of “Life After Beth”. Zach is devastated after his girlfriend, Beth, unexpectedly dies. When she suddenly rises from the dead, he sees it as a second chance and decides to do and say every thing he wishes he had while she was still alive. With big names such as Anna Kendrick and John C. Reilly, it’s the perfect film to close this year’s festival.
