SIFF Volunteer Voucher Policy

For every two hours that you volunteer, you will receive a voucher that can be redeemed for a festival movie ticket. You will have to purchase a separate ticket if you wish to attend a gala, forum or special event. Vouchers are transferable, but the sale of vouchers is strictly prohibited!

RECEIVING VOUCHERS: New this year! All volunteers will be able to get their vouchers from their SIFF Team Manager right after they work their shift.

REDEEMING VOUCHERS FOR TICKETS: 2008 Volunteer Vouchers are redeemable online (no handling fee). 2007 and 2008 vouchers are redeemable any of our Box Office locations. To redeem vouchers for multiple tickets, you can go to the Box Offices and fill out a ticket order form then present the form and vouchers to the Ticketeer.

There are a limited allotment of tickets available per screening that can be redeemed with Volunteer Vouchers. Once the number of tickets in the allotment have been redeemed by volunteers, the volunteer tickets for that screening are gone. Check periodically, especially a couple days before a screening, to see if any more tickets have been released. It is worth it to check to see if there are tickets still available for screenings posted as On Rush as we do hold an allotment for volunteers.

DAY OF SHOW: It’s a good idea to redeem your vouchers as soon as you can , but vouchers can be redeemed at the Box Offices on the day of show. Day of show seating is contingent on availability. If a screening is On Rush (meaning advanced tickets are no longer available), you may wait in the Rush Line and use your voucher for payment should space become available. If you have questions about day of show seating, ask a Venue Manager on site for information.

NEW! SIFF SUPPORTERS: Donate 5 volunteer vouchers to SIFF and become a SIFF Supporter!  Donated vouchers support outreach programs at SIFF like SIFF FutureWave, expanding cinema through education.   Your unused vouchers allow for area students to take part in SIFF and SIFF Cinema, meeting directors and seeing films.  In return for your donation, you will receive a SIFF Goodwill-level membership, which features access to free preview screenings and more throughout the year!

Vouchers must be sent in AFTER the festival (starting June 16) using the Voucher Donation Form. You can then mail in your 5 vouchers, together with the Voucher Donation Form to the SIFF main office at 400 9th Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109. You can also stop by in person and drop them off.  Volunteers can also increase their support of this program and receive a Benefactor level membership by enclosing a check for $75 along with the 5 vouchers.  Thank you for your support of SIFF!

VOUCHER EXPIRATION:. Vouchers earned during SIFF 2008 will expire at the start of next year’s Festival so can be used for this year’s Festival and all year long at SIFF Cinema. (Vouchers earned during SIFF 2007 will expire after June 15, 2008.) We are unable to replace lost vouchers, so treat them like cash. All vouchers earned during the 2008 Seattle International Film Festival MUST be picked up by June 27, 2008. Any vouchers earned during this year’s festival that are not picked up by that date will be forfeited.
