Shiftboard is an exciting and unique web services business located in downtown Seattle (Pioneer Square).
Beyond an endless list of artfully eclectic lunch and morning coffee options throughout our historic neighborhood by the water, we offer candidates all the benefits and challenges that go with working within a vibrant, creative business-driven environment.
We are currently seeking very bright, highly-motivated, multi-talented and creative engineering, marketing, operations and business support types for a variety of roles; full and part-time, on both salaried and contract basis.
The operating environment and development framework at Shiftboard is built from open source technology and computing standards.
As an engineer, the baseline technical skills we're looking for include one or more of the following: Real world experience in one or more agile development practices, LAMP (modperl/mysql) or Java, C, Flex/Flash, Javascript/DOM/CSS/XML, unix/gnu shell scripting, SVN and a solid, demonstrated grasp of open-source software usage, documentation and developmental standards.
Please let us know why you want to join our team and how your technical experience, energy-level and team-building skills might make you a good fit so that we may contact you for a more in-depth review.
We are searching for high energy team members who enjoy a fast-paced work environment.
We are initially looking for folks who want to work 15-30 hours a week on a contract basis now, with the possibility of each growing into a longer term position.
The positions listed below are not mutually exclusive. We are looking for the following for each listing:
We think of this role of Account Coordinator as a "triathlete." This position demands great versatility, enthusiasm and tenacity. We're looking for analytical, detail-oriented self-starters who possess strong project-management skills and the ability to handle clients with grace and confidence. You will consistently increase our client base, helping new customers as needed, and drive revenue with the highest possible standards.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with customers and a commitment to providing customers with the best possible online experience. You will be driving the sales process by responding to incoming customer inquiries (technical and business) about Shiftboard products. Timely follow-ups via email and phone with prospects to ensure questions are answered and orders are placed is a constant requirement, as well as hosting online product demonstrations. General characteristics like clear communication, timely follow-up and a competitive nature in sports or games usually count for a lot more than vast sales experience in our opinion.
This role will have multiple facets, but the ongoing focus will be measuring and improving lead generation through Google AdWords and other online ad placement and positioning mediums, referral programs, web community outreach, strategic content development, and other areas of search service optimization. Moderate experience in one or more of these online areas is desired, however high motivation, intellectual curiosity, strong, demonstrated analytical skills, and a constant focus on improvement are critical requirements for helping Shiftboard be successful with these programs. Helping to manage our online presence and other initiatives to develop marketing and sales strategies for increasing sales growth and revenue will certainly be included in this job.
This role encompasses content creation, coordination, and prioritization of all types of Shiftboard customer support documentation. Documentation types typically include online help topics, get-started “cheat sheets”, web-based training tools and PDF-formatted printable, succinct manuals. Whether you are an engineer with good writing skills or an English major with a passion for web-surfing, inquire about our needs here if the role and our company sound like a way to expand your professional horizons.
