Recruit. A Shiftboard worker-registration page has the complete look and feel of your site, but is powered by Shiftboard and feeds your Shiftboard worker database. Workers can keep their contact information up to date in one place instead of tracking phone numbers or email in multiple locations. The types of fields captured in your workers' registration form and profile can be customized to your specific requirements.

Report. Powerful executive reporting includes, for example, total worker hours, hours rolled up by location, by work group, and more. Reporting also includes printing sign-in lists, whch are pre-set print-outs including phone numbers for each location on a given day where shifts have been confirmed for use on a clipboard. Every report is downloadable to Excel to manipulate data for printing or other analyses.

Communicate. The system is focused not just on scheduling, but also communication. You may want to send an email to anyone who has a shift on Jan. 28, or to all workers who do NOT have a shift yet because more workers are needed. You may have a work group like "Office workers" who need to be reminded of specific procedures. All messages by default go to both the worker's Shiftboard message account and email address. Messages can also go out SMS to cell phone based on worker-set preferences in their profile.

Schedule. Shifts can be posted in a central calendar and accessed by workers. Shifts can be a) assigned by a manager b) accepted by workers on a first-come, first-served basis, or c) by signup list where workers indicate they want the shift but the control is held by the manager of who is ultimately assigned. Currently, method b) is how 70% of all shifts get confirmed, which means workers are much happier because they control more of what they do when, and it takes a big burden off the schedulers.
